Review of the book

Plot

I really enjoyed the plot of this book. It was simple to follow along with, but it wasn’t too predictable or boring either. I felt like it read more like a comfort read, where I could just relax and enjoy the story without having to worry about any unexpected twists or surprises. The plot was easy to understand and flowed nicely from one scene to the next, making it an enjoyable experience overall.

Setting

I was captivated by the cozy small town setting of this book. The author did a great job of capturing the sights and sounds that would have been experienced by early settlers in America. It was like being transported back in time, and it made me appreciate how far we’ve come since then!

Characters

Hannah was a bit of a challenge in the beginning because she was so mean to Luke, but as I kept reading I started understanding her better and found myself connecting with her more.

Luke, on the other hand, was very steadfast yet filled with inner turmoil which made his character even more relatable. Both characters experienced an emotional growth throughout the book that felt genuine and believable and it was wonderful seeing them grow closer to God.

Tropes

I really enjoyed the pregnancy trope in this book. It was done so well and I found myself rooting for the characters as they navigated their way through the various plot points. The miscommunication trope, which is usually my least favorite to read, was handled extremely well by the author.

They were able to make it believable and not contrived or forced, which can often be a problem with this kind of trope. Overall, I thought that these two elements added a lot to the story and made it an enjoyable read.

My thoughts on the book

Overall, I loved The Preacher’s Unexpected Bride! The characters had such growth and development throughout the story that it was like the icing on the cake. I was especially impressed by how the author included lots of nuggets of faith wisdom that really helped me grow as a reader. Not only was it interesting to read, but it also provided me with some valuable life lessons that I can apply to my own life.

This book is perfect for the reader that loves sweet romances with really great nuggets of faith!
